The Museum encourages studies of the instruments in its collection. Its principal objectives are to develop and diffuse the many kinds of information that musical instruments convey as part of our musical, historical, cultural and anthropological heritage, all of which need to be preserved in their integrity.

In order to accomplish these objectives, the Museum displays part of its collection and also carries out research activities on its instruments, sharing the results as broadly as possible; at the same time, it limits direct access only to those conducting legitimate scientific studies.
